“Loyalty – Secrets to a Happy Life” Church 09.18.22

We had a Believer’s Baptisms at the beginning of the service. See for more info.

We are looking at how God worked in the life of Joseph from the book of Genesis. Even though he was sold into slavery by his own brothers, ripped away from his father and forced to serve someone else, Joseph was faithful to do right and honor God. Eventually he became loyal to the slave owner and when he chose to do what was right and honorable he ended up falsely accused in prison. And the Bible says God was with Joseph in the good times and the bad. Watch to be encouraged to be loyal and faithful even when things don’t go your way – you may be exactly where God needs you. Loyalty—Secrets to a Happy Life
Reciprocate the immeasurable loyalty of God to you by your own loyalty
back to Him, because moral shortcuts make happiness fizzle.

An Example of Loyalty: Joseph in Potiphar’s House (Gen 39)

What we can learn from Joseph’s Experience and Choices

#1 Just because you’re on the downhill slide, doesn’t mean God has FORSAKEN you.

#2 The more you are CONVINCED of the love of God, the more you can reciprocate with your love for God.

#3 The turning points in your life, good or bad, become the keys to unlock the next stage in God’s PLAN for you.

#4 It’s only when you are CONTENT with today’s grace that you will ever feel truly rich and truly free.

QUESTIONS For Reflection and Discussion

1. Has a life of faith seemed like a chore to you? An endless to-do list?

2. In what ways have you morphed your faith into something you do for God more than something he does for and within you?

3. List ten ways God has been loyal to you. If you can’t think of any, start with your shoes and work your way up.

4. How convinced are you of God’s loyalty to you? Have you interpreted some of life’s twists and turns as God’s disloyalty?

5. Can you name some surprising ways God has provided for your needs? Can you say he has provided all your needs?

6. What does Romans 8:38,39 say about the permanence of God’s love?
