What does authentic faith look like in everyday life?

In this ten-week series, Pastor Chris Teien explores key passages from James and uncovers practical principles for following Jesus with integrity, perseverance, and wholehearted devotion. Each message addresses a major challenge believers face and shows how genuine faith shapes our choices, relationships, priorities, and response to God.

Our words can encourage, guide, wound, or destroy. Authentic faith uses words to speak truth, extend grace, and build others up.

11/1 “How to Become a Peacemaker” (James 3)

God equips us to become peacemakers whose lives are marked by humility, mercy, sincerity, and the good fruit that grows from pursuing peace.

11/8 “How to Move from Conflict to Restoration” (James 4–5)

Many conflicts around us begin with desires and battles within us. James points us toward humility, repentance, submission to God, and dependence on His grace while encouraging us to help restore those who have wandered.

11/15 “Trusting God with Your Plans and Possessions” (James 4–5)

Authentic faith makes plans with humility, handles resources faithfully, and recognizes that our future and possessions ultimately belong to God.

11/22 “Praying and Praising in Every Season” (James 5)

In seasons of suffering, happiness, sickness, waiting, and uncertainty, authentic faith remains patient, prays faithfully, praises God gratefully, and depends on the care of other believers.
