Membership

We want to make it easy for people to get the information they are looking for to see why they should become active members of Rockwell Church. Here you will find links you can follow to information and video clips on pages on our website. These are the things we would talk about if we were meeting together in person for a three-hour church membership meeting.

There is a 75-minute video series (8 videos under 10 minutes each) for this membership class that is password-protected on this website for copyright reasons.

This online membership page is a work in progress and we plan to keep updating it as needed. Please follow the links and let us know if you have any questions staff@rockwell.church

The following comes from our Church Constitution and Bylaws:

Who may Become a Member

“Persons confessing faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord of life, giving evidence of regeneration, being baptized by immersion, completing the membership application process described in the bylaws, accepting the Statement of Faith held by this church and being duly received by the members, shall constitute the membership.”

Church Covenant

“Having been led by the Holy Spirit to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and to confess Him as Lord, and on confession of this faith having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully covenant with one another as one body in Christ, to lead lives worthy of the Lord and fully pleasing to Him. By the Holy Spirit’s aid and power, church members shall:

  1. Pray Faithfully:
We commit to praying regularly for the church’s spiritual growth, for each other, for our pastors and ministry staff, and for the advancement of God’s Kingdom (Ephesians 6:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, Luke 18:1, John 14:13–14, Colossians 4:2).
  2. Participate and Attend:
We promise to regularly attend worship services, participate in the ordinances, be involved in church ministries, and support church business meetings. If we move from this place, we commit to uniting with another local church as soon as possible to continue carrying out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word Hebrews 10:24–25, Ephesians 4:16, 1 Corinthians 11:26)
  1. Promote Unity and Christian Love:
We commit to walking together in Christian love, seeking unity, and offering encouragement. We will give and receive admonition with meekness and always be ready for reconciliation (John 13:34–35, Matthew 18:15, Psalm 133:1, Colossians 3:12–16, 1 Corinthians 1:10).
  2. Live According to God’s Word:
We promise to forsake sinful ways, walk in righteousness, and faithfully apply God’s Word to our daily lives. We will maintain a vibrant relationship with God through prayer and time in His Word (2 Timothy 3:16–17, Colossians 3:16, Romans 12:1–2, James 1:22).
  3. Use Our Gifts to Serve:
We commit to using our spiritual gifts to serve within the Body of Christ and to support the ministries of the church (1 Peter 4:10, 1 Corinthians 12:4–7, Ephesians 4:11–12, Colossians 3:23–24).
  4. Give Generously and Steward Well:
We promise to be faithful stewards of our time, talents, and finances, giving tithes and offerings to support the church and its mission to fulfill the Great Commission (2 Corinthians 9:6–13, Matthew 6:33, Luke 6:38, Proverbs 3:9–10, Proverbs 11:25, 1 Chron 29:14).
  5. Teach and Evangelize:
We commit to faithfully teaching the Bible to our children and seeking the salvation of family, friends, and others through our witness (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Acts 1:8).
  6. Support Church Leadership and Maintain Doctrinal Integrity:
We promise to honor, esteem, and pray for our pastors and leaders, supporting them as they exercise their spiritual offices. We will refrain from promoting any doctrinal interpretation that contradicts the church’s Statement of Faith, maintaining unity in doctrine (Hebrews 13:17, Titus 1:9, 1 Thessalonians 5:11–13, 1 Timothy 5:17).
  7. Live with Integrity and Holiness:
We promise to be trustworthy and just in our dealings, avoiding unkind words and unrighteous anger. We will honor God by living holy lives and avoiding actions that defile the body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (Proverbs 10:9, 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, Ephesians 4:25–32, 1 Peter 1:15–16).
  8. Care for One Another:
We commit to caring for each other, helping in times of physical or emotional hardship, and being compassionate in our feelings and speech, showing Christian love in all situations (Galatians 6:2, Romans 12:10–18).”
