Connecting People of all ages to Christ?

“Connecting”   Connecting is a verb, it requires action. With the help of the Holy Spirit who empowers us (Acts 1:8),  we must be constantly involved in this act of “connecting.”

The Merriam-Webster dictionary reveals four ways the word connect is used.

  1. to place or establish into a relationship
  2. to join or fasten together usually by something intervening
  3. to have or establish a rapport
  4. to make a successful hit, shot, or throw (sports terminology)

We need to be connected to be able to connect others into a life-changing relationship with Christ (see John 15). He who has the Son (is connected) has life, he who does not have the Son (not connected) does not have life. – 1 John 5:12

Connecting in 3 ways

#1  Connecting People in our spere of influence to Christ

This is our greatest purpose. He who wins souls is wise (Prov 11:30)

#2  Connecting to our Church Community:
Joined and fastened together into the Christian community, the church body through Baptism and church membership so that we can more effectively live for Christ and serve Him

#3  Connecting to the Communities in which we Live and Work

Having or establishing a rapport. Rockwell Church is not to become a fortress in which we hide away from unbelievers. We need to actively pursue the lost (Lk 19:10)

“People of All Ages”  This ministry of “connecting” is for all ages including children, teens, younger adults, middle-aged, and senior citizens. Our programs and literature will reflect these values. We desire to be a church that has a mix of all ages because Jesus cares for people in all stages of life. (See Psalm 71)
