We are in a message series looking at the “Full Armor of God” passage from Ephesians 6. Paul instructs us to, “Stand firm then… with the breastplate of righteousness in place” Ephesians 6:14 (NIV). The soldier’s body armor helped protect his heart and other vital organs to keep him alive. It also helped support his core and give him confidence in the battle. They were most successful when they had someone help them check the integrity of their body armor before the fight. In a spiritual battle, Satan will try to tempt us to sin and pierce our hearts. The wise words from Proverbs 4:23 warn us to, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (NLT). Come to Rockwell Church this Sunday to be encouraged that God offers the breastplate of righteousness to help us resist temptation and stand victorious in Him.
