The Care Ministry Team is responsible to oversee, develop, implement and maintain a ministry of caring for various life needs of the congregation. The following responsibilities are coordinated by the team in an effort to accomplish its’ mission:
VISITATION MINISTRY: Members of the team visit home bound folks from the congregation residing in hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities and other environments in cooperation with the Elders and Pastor.
BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY: The team carries out a bereavement ministry to grieving individuals and families within the church who have recently lost loved ones.
CARE PACKAGES: Care packages or baskets are provided to military personnel, college students and shut-ins when appropriate.
PRAYER CHAIN: A prayer chain is coordinated and staffed by team members or others to keep the congregation apprised of special prayer requests and concerns within the church family. Requests are typically sent out by Instant Alert.
BENEVOLENCE FUND: The team administers a benevolence fund for special needs of families within the church and community.
NEWCOMERS: The team identifies newcomers, provides information about the church, and periodically hosts a spaghetti dinner which includes the Elders and the Pastor and their families to assist them in becoming acquainted.
PASTOR APPRECIATION: The team coordinates Pastor Appreciation in October which gives the congregation an opportunity to show their appreciation to the Pastoral Staff with a gift or card.
KRASNOSELYA CHRISTMAS GIFT: Each year at Christmas time the team sends a Christmas gift to our sister church in Krasnoselya, Ukraine.
